Designer & Textile Specialist
Cenk has designed and developed textile collections for furnishings, curtains, floorings and wall coverings, exploring new perspectives in this domain. He combines industrial experience and expertise to create contemporary textiles with a unique identity – a perfect blend of industrialism and tradition. Cenk’s creations reflect his experimental work with threads, the construction, structure and interplay between textures and colours.
Cenk graduated from the Textile Design Department at La Cambre Visual Arts Academy in Brussels. He specialises in weaving, materials and colours. Since 2004 he has been working as a self-employed designer and artistic director for the textile and furniture industry. He teaches at the Textile Design Department at La Cambre Visual Arts Academy in Brussels and at KASK – School of Arts in Gent.
Textile Designer & Consultant
Katrien graduated from the Textile Design Department at La Cambre Visual Arts Academy in Brussels. She started her career weaving fabrics for chairs and other pieces of furniture. However, her focus gradually shifted towards more experimental projects, and specifically towards using contrasting materials like cotton, flax, rubber and plastic in contemporary woven carpets.
Within industry, Katrien has developed new materials and table linen collections. She is also very well known in the automotive world. Since 1991 she has been working as a free-lance designer and consultant. She teaches product design at KASK – School of Arts in Gent and at MAFAD in Maastricht.
